Political Cartoons
Cartoon One: This was my first political cartoon and it's not even political. A Mexican restaraunt in town got busted by the DEA for selling or creating meth. Weapons were found as well. Appeared in the Douglas County Mail.
Cartoon Two: A bear terrorized our area in the summer of 2005. There were many sightings and the Oregon Department of Fish and Wildlife were having problems catching it. Appeared in the Douglas County Mail.
Cartoon Three: If I remember right two county commissioners were opposing the indians who own the local casino over the buying of land in town, land which wouldn't be taxable. The situation ended up getting pretty nasty I think. This is the first political cartoon I've done that actually has politicians in it. I was afraid I was going to offend the indians but didn't. Appeared in the Douglas County Mail.
Cartoon Four: This cartoon stems from a commissioners vs. casino story. The editor decided to have a little good-will cartoon in the paper for the holidays. Appeared in the Douglas County Mail.
Cartoon Five: Long time employee Steve Whicker decided to retire from the Douglas County Mail newspaper around Christmas. In this cartoon, he's playing Santa while editor Bob Chaney sits on his lap. The Jarod cartoon and Herbie the Dentist elf make a special appearance. Appeared in the Douglas County Mail.
